I don’t know about you but I’ll be glad to see the back of 2023, it’s been a very strange year.   I have a really good feeling about 2024, well that’s what I keep telling myself anyway hahahaha.

Firstly I’d like to say a massive congratulations to you all for the amazing work you’ve produced this year.  Seeing you all grow and flourish has been my proudest moment this year.

I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for purchasing my online videos and believing in my business.   Each purchase you make keeps my business running.  Social media has not been our friend over the past couple of years as I’m sure you’ve experienced yourself.  I’ve noticed so many small businesses online struggling because of reach.  I have the same issue so you’re not alone.  It’s soul destroying putting all the hard work in and then your post or reel going nowhere.  Long gone are the days of organic reach.  This I’m certain will change at some point because too many businesses are being affected.  So hang on in there and all the time you can financially, bear with it.

I also wanted to thank each and every one of you who are part of my community pages.  Taylor Made Cake Courses Online community and Baking Cheerleaders.  How you all interact and help each other is heart warming.  I am so proud that these community pages are filled with love and solidarity.  They are safe spaces for you to ask questions and not be berated for not knowing.  This is what I always wanted them to be.  I jump on now and then but most of the time you’ve all answered someones cry for help before I’ve even seen it.  Thank you for this.  As I always say there is never a stupid question.  If you don’t know the answer its not a stupid question is it!

I hope your Christmas orders went well and you were proud of yourselves.  It’s such an accomplishment when you’ve gotten yourself through a big event.  Any busy days you have in the future will not feel busy.  Please take note of what worked and what didn’t work for you? Sometimes it’s not until you’ve completed a big event that you know just how much you took on was just right, could have taken more or took to many order on?  Only you will know the answer to this.

The Christmas period is the perfect opportunity to assess your business.

  • Do you need to make changes?
  • Is there a product that just didn’t work?
  • Do you need to change your ordering system?
  • Were the hours and days you worked suitable?

Write a plan to implement any changes and stick to it.

Best part for me over the Christmas period is writing my Manifestation list.

I’ve already done it! No time like the present!

It’s amazing how your mindset can dictate what happens with your business and sustaining a really positive mindset.  Believing in your brand, your business is key.  If you don’t believe in it how do you expect your customers too?

Also, acknowledge your wins for 2023!  What are you proud of yourself for?

Could be that you mastered a rose, or stood your ground with customers.

My win was getting back to piping for customers, I didn’t realise quite how much I missed seeing my customers faces when they collected their cupcake bouquets.  Priceless…

I can’t wait for 2024 to be here, we will be living in our new home, a new chapter for The Taylor’s.  I have to say I’m dreading the actual move, I’m already breaking out into a sweat writing this.  18 years we’ve lived in this house and we have so many wonderful memories.  But, I do know now that where ever we live it will be our home because it’s not the house that makes it a home it’s who’s in it.  Moving out of the area is the best part for me personally.

So that’s enough of me waffling, thank you again for all your love and support.  It means the world and I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Love Jane x
