It’s been so long since I went to an awards night.  Last one being Cake Masters 4 years ago or was is 5 can’t remember now…A good excuse to get your sparkly frocks out and be amongst cake royalty.

Totally out of my comfort zone I have to say, but what a night it was… Kelly Jane editor of D’licious Magazine put on THE most amazing night.  Goodness knows how she did it? But boy should Kelly Jane be so proud of herself.  The turn out was amazing, such a beautiful setting, it was held at Leeds Castle in Kent, lucky for Fran and I its only half an hour down the road for us, but some travelled from abroad and all over the UK to be there.  

Rosie Cake Diva was the host and true to form had us all in stitches with her cheeky one liners, my face hurt by the time we left from the laughing.  

Fran and I had the pleasure of being on a table with our cake friends, Haf and Rachel from Olbaa, I was so relieved to see their friendly faces, we spent most of the night putting the world to rights which is my favourite thing lol.

Also on our table were the lovely @propoptions they were so funny and very likeminded..  and multi award winning! Congratulations to them for winning two awards, it was totally deserved.  Along with Haf and Rachel who also one a very deserving award of Best Online Community with the My Baking Journey Podcast. 

In my category the incredible Sebastien Haramendy was the winner! Yay,  so well deserved. 

I still cannot believe that I was chosen to be a finalist in the Cupcake Artist of the Year…I was relieved to be honest the thought of getting up on stage and making a speech was not a bit of me and I probably would have just said a few swear words hahahaha.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate every single nominee for the DMA awards we should all be proud of ourselves for even getting that far.  The talent in the room on the night was off the scale, everyone was so friendly and warm and had a lovely community feel about it. 

Well done to you Kelly Jane again it was amazing. 

PS. Very sore feet the next but well worth it!
